TUBE PRE-AMPLIFIER

If you've already read the ABOUT section, you know my philosophy regarding the optimal system, tube technology, and its place in the signal path. On my DIY Audio journey, I’ve tried several preamplifier variants: a passive circuit (essentially just a simple channel selector plus a potentiometer), an op-amp–based design with a passive three-band equalizer, and chips (ICs) designed specifically for that purpose. Finally, I experimented with a tube preamplifier version and have been using it since 2018. In my humble opinion, it’s the best way to add a touch of “harmonic spices” to your system’s sound. I understand that this is a kind of self-deception and an artificial “enhancement” (essentially the addition of distortions), but to me it just sounds better - and when it comes to taste, there’s no arguing...
Currently, I personally use PSVANE 12AU7-S (Matched Pair) tubes. I’ve tried new old stock and several modern variants, but so far, Psvane is the one I can recommend.
